Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Anti-Scam Trap Bot ("the Bot") processes information when it is added to or used in a Discord server.

1. Information We Process

The Bot may process information necessary to provide its moderation features, including Discord server IDs and names, Discord user IDs, usernames and mentions used in moderation logs, channel IDs, messages sent in configured trap channels, moderation information, and server-specific configuration.

2. Message Content

The Bot monitors messages sent in configured trap channels so it can enforce the server's anti-scam trap. It may read the sender, delete the triggering message, apply the configured punishment, and create a moderation log.

The current Bot code does not store the actual content of triggering messages in its persistent configuration file. Message content may nevertheless be temporarily processed while the moderation action is performed.

3. Information Stored

Depending on configuration, stored information may include the server ID and name, trap channel ID, log channel ID, punishment settings, timeout duration, invite settings or generated invite links, and Discord user IDs added as local owners.

4. Moderation Logs

A moderation log may contain the user's Discord mention and username, Discord ID, channel, action, duration, and reason. The current implementation does not place the triggering message's actual content into that log.

5. Retention

Configuration remains stored while the server's Bot configuration exists. A server administrator can use /remove to remove the server's active trap configuration. Messages sent to Discord log channels may remain according to the server's own settings and Discord's retention practices.

6. Access

Information processed by the Bot may be accessible to the Bot and its hosting infrastructure as necessary to operate the service, authorized server administrators and moderators who can access the configured log channel, and Discord as part of providing its platform and API.

The Bot does not intentionally sell personal information.

7. Third Parties

The Bot operates through Discord and Discord's API. Your use of Discord is also subject to Discord's own policies and privacy practices.

8. Security

Reasonable measures may be used to protect configuration and operational data. No online service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The Bot does not knowingly collect information from children independently of Discord. Users should comply with Discord's age requirements and applicable laws.

10. Data Requests

For questions or requests concerning information stored by the Bot, contact the developer through the project's official repository or available support channels.

11. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the Bot's functionality or data practices change. The updated version will include a new "Last Updated" date.

12. Contact

For privacy questions or concerns, contact the Bot's developer through the project's official repository or available support channels.
